SJLDC · Our Services
Two kinds of client, one way of working. Universities, colleges and awarding bodies are under pressure to respond to AI — in how they assess, how they teach and how they run. Small and medium-sized businesses need to know where AI genuinely saves time and money, and where it doesn’t. We help both with evidence, not panic. Four services, each led by Dr Shaily Jain: PhD in AI, external examiner and standards verifier, nearly 20 years across education and industry.
Service 01
Generative AI has broken the assumptions behind a lot of assessment. Detection tools alone won’t fix it. We help you redesign assessment so it stays valid, fair and defensible — and so your staff know what to do when they suspect misuse.
Heads of quality, programme leaders, exam boards and awarding bodies — anyone who has to sign off that a qualification still means what it says.
We sit on both sides of the table: building AI systems, and verifying standards for Pearson and BCS. We know what an examiner will accept.
Service 02
Most institutions don’t have an AI problem; they have a decision problem. Which tools, for whom, under what rules, with what data — and how do you know it’s working? We give you a practical answer and a plan you can actually deliver.
Senior leadership teams, digital and IT leads, and heads of department in universities, FE colleges, schools groups and training providers.
We’ve led an MSc in Computer Science & AI, advised across government and healthcare, and built the platforms ourselves. We know the difference between a demo and a deployment.
Service 03
Hands-on AI training for staff, delivered by someone who has taught it at master’s level and used it in practice. Not a tour of ChatGPT — working sessions built around your people’s real tasks.
Teaching teams, assessors and verifiers, professional services staff, and businesses upskilling their workforce.
For individuals and smaller teams, our courses in AI, project management, certifications and wellbeing run on Learnexa, our e-learning platform.
Service 04
We help small and medium-sized businesses identify where AI can deliver practical value — reducing administrative work, improving customer service and supporting better business decisions. Our approach starts with your existing operations, not with a predetermined tool.
Our services are designed for SMEs that want to adopt AI but need clear, independent guidance on where to begin and what will provide a worthwhile return.
We begin by understanding your business, challenges and priorities. We then recommend achievable improvements based on expected value, cost and risk. This could start with a focused pilot before progressing to wider implementation.
Let’s identify where AI could make the greatest difference to your business.
One-to-one help choosing a course and university, and reviewing personal statements — for routes into AI, data, project management, business, law and medicine. We also help with the application process to get into university.
Most engagements start with a 30-minute call. Tell us what’s worrying you and we’ll tell you honestly whether we can help.
